The first day of therapy is tough. It’s hard to get started with therapy. I’ve been to therapy and I felt like a puddle of worthless goo walking in to my first appointment. (Keep in mind, I am a therapist.) But after sitting down, getting to know each other, and slowly but surely opening up I felt better. In fact, I always felt better leaving therapy than when I walked in. I just want you to know that I understand how it feels and how vulnerable and raw this is. I respect that deeply and I will always keep your best interests and feelings in mind.
The assistance of a therapist is fundamental to healing from trauma.
